All residents who wish to maximize their exposure to and participation in orthopedics and sports medicine during residency can peruse the additional criteria below in order to gradate with a sports medicine Health AOC. This AOC provides a strong foundation if you are considering a career path that would sports medicine. 

Requirement

  • Spend one of your elective months doing sports medicine

Plus obtain four additional points

  • Attend a national sports medicine conference (2 points)

  • Present an orthopedic or sports medicine topic at a CME accredited conference (2 points)

  • Give a 1 hour didactic presentation on an orthopedic or sports medicine topic (1) point

  • Participate in the orthopedic/ sports medicine curriculum committee or play an active role in facilitating the orthopedic curriculum at Swedish. (2 points)
